We'd set up an installation assembly line, troubleshooting and experimentation table and a demonstration area. Two medium sized adjacent rooms might be good to acoustically isolate the activities. I'd estimate 15 to 20 volunteer installers and demonstrators from the Asterisk Users Group and maybe 50 to 75 guests. After we have a confirmed location, we'll start the publicity and refer everyone to a site where they can register to attend so we have a better number. The Atlanta Linux Enthusiasts (several of which are interested in attending) meet at Emory and though they think we can use a room over there, most of us in Asterisk Users Group believe Georgia Tech is a better location. (I'm partial since my daughter starts there this Fall.) There is a good percentage of Asterisk people who are also Amateur Radio operators and we'd like to pull in the GT Radio group too since we'll be demonstrating various wireless interfaces to Asterisk. Since there is more communications research in progress at GT there might be more interested people there. Asterisk makes a great lab tool for any Voip work. Since it's Open Source you can code in emerging standards and unique test cases quickly and inexpensively. Also having the Asterisk Install Fest at GT would be a great run up to the Asterisk Developers Conference that was recently announced to be held at GT in late May (http://www.asterisk.org/node/48316).
