[Aaug] Echo on client

Just need to tap the knowledge of some people. Kris and I have a client with a Deltacom T1 who recently has been complaining about a lot of echo. They don't get it on all calls... usually inbound but today or yesterday they got echo on an outbound call.
When echo does happen they have been e-mailing Deltacom. Now the girl at Deltacom usually responds that she had rerouted the call path to a different circuit but I was wondering... is the echo issue always going to be Deltacom's burden or is there some other setting I can tweak in Asterisk? Echo cancellation is turned on but other than that I'm not sure what to do.
